In his famous “Ripple of Hope” speech, Robert Kennedy cites a blessing/curse of apocryphal origin: “May you live in interesting times.” As our republic embarks on a new age of uncertainty, we are seeking work that considers the complexities of our era and contemplates the convoluted zeitgeist of our “interesting times.”
THE WAKE // aftermath of an election
Jan 20, 6-10 p.m.
The Draw — 800 S. Lawe Street, Appleton, WI
As we enter uncharted territory with an unprecedented, newly-elected president, we can only band together as people (who must look one another in the eyes) in order to come to some sense of understanding. So with that, the Feather & Bone Gallery is hosting a new exhibit that opens this Friday, Jan 20 and will run for a month.
Twenty local artists have created works of art representing a wide variety of styles, mediums and content specifically for THE WAKE // aftermath of an election. It’s an amazing body of work that will make you reflect, and possibly deflect.
